At the heart of each of our products is a phase change wax that expands and contracts at an accurate and repeatable rate. In the 1930s the idea was conceived that this wax can be used to mechanically power thermal actuators, bringing about a new technology to enhance efficiency and reliability of temperature control. The phase change properties are so precise that they are used as primary reference standards by ASTM for instrument calibration.
We have incorporated this technology into the Thermoloid material that makes our valves work. When the Thermoloid material is heated above the melting point, it expands and pushes on the diaphragm, which in turn pushes on a piston. This piston acts as a valve stem, opening or closing a valve. As the Thermoloid material cools, it returns to its original state and a spring inside returns the piston and diaphragm to its cold position.
Our product line includes Thermal Actuators, Hosedown & Washdown Stations, Tepid Water Delivery Systems for Safety Showers/Eyewashes, Tempering, Mixing and Diverting Valves, Freeze Protection and Scald Protection Valves, Heat Activated Traps, Ambient Temperature Sensing Valves, Personal Cooling Vest/Systems, Surface and Loop Temperature Control Valves. Custom Valve orders to help solve your problem is a specialty our engineering staff is prepared to meet.
